Kelsey Kathleen McGill - Obituary

elsey Kathleen McGill, 21, of Annapolis, MD died on Monday, July 16, 2018. Born on December 25, 1996 in Annapolis, MD to Tim and Carla Hargrove McGill, Kelsey attended Severn School and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 2015, where she played lacrosse and was on the track team. She was entering her senior year at the University of South Carolina where she was studying Hospitality. Kelsey was a fun loving young woman who loved her parents, friends, and family. She was an animal lover, with a special place in her heart for her dog, Tinkerbell. Kelsey always gave special attention to the Annapolis SPCA, where she celebrated her 8th birthday. Over the years, the McGill’s sponsored six Naval Academy Midshipmen who played a special role as mentors and sisters to Kelsey; they remain a significant part of the McGill family. Kelsey loved spending time with her seven McGill cousins, calling themselves, “The Cousins Club.” She loved her home on Mill Creek and it was not unusual to find her on her jet ski with her special friends. In addition to her parents, Kelsey is survived by her grandparents, Gloria Hargrove and William McGill, 15 aunts and uncles, 14 cousins and 2 first cousins once removed. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Therese McGill and Earl Hargrove and her cousin, Clyde Kelly. Friends are invited to celebrate Kelsey’s life on Sunday, July 22 from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 PM at the Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Her funeral service will be held on Monday, July 23 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 109 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis, MD. Interment will follow at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the SPCA of Anne Arundel Co., P.O. Box 3471, Annapolis, MD 21403.
