K

enneth V. Carter, 78, of Annapolis, died June 1, 2013 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. Born on October 22, 1934 in Madill, OK to the late Buster and Estella Carter, Kenneth was a retiree of the US Navy where he served three tours in Viet Nam and also was active during the Korean War. After retiring from the US Navy after 20 years of service, Kenneth then worked for the US Department of the Air Force where he retired after 20 years. Ken was very active in the Annapolis Fleet Reserve Club in Annapolis, serving as past-manager, then Chairman of the Board of Governors for sixteen years. He was also Past-President of the Fleet Reserve Association for Branch #24. In addition to his parents, Ken was also preceded in death by one brother, Troy Carter. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Dorothy Carter; one son, Thomas J. Miller, Jr.; two daughters, Kimberly (Miller) Wells and Kellie (Miller) Osbourn; two brothers, Carl and Jerry Carter; one sister, Aileen Lasater; six grandchildren, Samantha, Christy and Travis Wells, Taylor and Jeffrey Osbourn and Thomas J. Miller, III. Friends are invited to Ken's Life Celebration on Thursday, June 6, from 2-4 and 6-9PM at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, where a funeral service will be held on Friday, June 7, at 11AM. Interment MD Veterans Cemetery-Crownsville.
