enneth E. Doyle, Sr. of Temple Hills passed away peacefully at his home on September 15th, at the age of 72. He was born in Washington, D.C. He was the only child of Francis E. Doyle, Jr. and Emily May Hays. He grew up in Kentland, Maryland and attended Saint Ambrose Catholic school. He played baseball and football for Palmer Park Boys and Girls Club and developed a love for golf at a young age. He graduated the Class of 1966 and started the Doyle legacy at Saint John’s College High School in Northwest Washington, D.C. He enlisted into the United States Navy during the Vietnam era. He trained and graduated from Naval Advanced Undersea Weapons school in Key West, Florida as a Torpedoman. Subsequently, he embarked on a cruise aboard the U.S.S. Yorktown, an aircraft carrier (CV-10). He served as a Prince George’s County police officer from 1974 until 1978. In 1975, he married Zandra G. Nunley Earle and became a loving step-father to Christina L. Eaton Briggs. He then welcomed two sons into the family, Kenneth, Jr. in 1976, and Matthew Aaron in 1981. They were married until 1991. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, American Legion, VFW, and the Elks Lodge. He enjoyed golf and bowling, and participated in darts and horseshoes leagues. He was a pitcher in a men’s slow pitch softball league and he coached girls’ basketball for Allentown Road Boys & Girls Club. He was a union membership director for American Federation of Government employees and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He met the love of his life, Kathleen E. Shifflett in 1997 and married January 12, 2005 until his passing. Together they enjoyed traveling and cruises. They loved Redskins football. He took joy in singing Karaoke. Ken is survived by his children, Tina Briggs, spouse, Mark, Valerie Norman spouse, Matthew, Kenneth Jr., spouse, Nikki, and Matthew, spouse, Yasmin. His grandchildren, Ronnie, Misty Rose, Katie, Marc, Cole, Breanna, Emma, Anthony, Eli, Fahada, and great-granddaughter, Evelyn.
