K

enneth Irwin Jennings, 73, a resident of Heritage Harbour in Annapolis for 18 years and previously of Ridgewood, NJ, died November 23 at Somerford Place in Annapolis after a six-year illness. Mr. Jennings was born September 27, 1935 in Kingston, NY and graduated from Ridgewood High School in New Jersey in 1953. He earned a bachelor's degree from Marietta College, Ohio in 1957 and was a member of the Delta Upsilon fraternity. He served two years with the U.S. Army in the Counter Intelligence Corp at Fort Holabird in Baltimore, MD. He was a National Bank Examiner with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, U.S. Treasury Department for 33 years until his retirement in 1990. He also worked for Riggs National Bank in Washington DC for two years after his retirement. He was the treasurer and vice president of the executive board of the Bergen County New Jersey chapter of the Boy Scouts of America. He was also a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, the National Model Railroad Association, and various Heritage Harbour committees. His hobbies included model railroading, bowling, classical music, and attending Naval Academy concerts. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Audrey Fraze Jennings; two sons, Douglas Jennings and his wife Patricia of Dagsboro, DE., Steven Jennings and his wife Mary of Mountainside, NJ., one daughter, Karen Hogan and her husband John of Alpharetta, GA; two brothers, George Jennings of Wappingers Falls, NY., and Donald Jennings of Cary, NC; and 5 grandchildren, Alison, Kevin, Olivia, Caitlin, and William. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov 29, at noon at Calvary United Methodist Church, 301 Rowe Blvd., Annapolis. Internment will be held privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, 301 Rowe Blvd., Annapolis or to Hospice of Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD.
