evin Michael Dowd, beloved husband, father and grandfather, was 79 years old when he passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on October 28, 2026, after a long battle with Parkinsons. Kevin was born in the Bronx, NY, to the late Michael and Mary (Flattery) Dowd. He graduated from Cardinal Spellman High School and Manhattan College in the Bronx. Kevin proudly served in the United States Air Force with Strategic Air Command, Global Weather Operations. Following his honorable discharge as a Staff Sergeant, he began a 35-year career in information technology and telecommunications, ultimately completing his career at the Bank of New York in Manhattan. Kevin and Joanne raised their family in Nanuet, NY, where they lived for 35 years. After raising their children, they retired to Lewes, DE, and recently moved to Annapolis to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Everyone who met Kevin, even briefly, loved him. He had the brightest blue eyes, the best smile, and could make anyone laugh. Nothing mattered more to him than his family. He loved being a dad, and he loved being Pa even more. His ten grandchildren brought him so much joy. Whether he was watching Disney movies, transforming into a superhero, or providing all the voices needed for a game or story, he did it all. He never missed a game or performance and was always the biggest fan there. Kevin was the quiet, steady presence for all who knew him. His warmth, humor, stories, and love of family will live on in the memories of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by the many lives he touched. Kevin is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Joanne; his children, Erin Calabrese (Michael), Kara Roberts, Brian Dowd (Gina), and Maura Sniegoski (John). He was a proud and loving “Pa” to his ten beautiful grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters, Patricia Feeley (Ken) and Margaret Fitzpatrick (Jimmy), his brother-in-law John Kaefer (Dot), lifelong friends, John and Mary Cashin, and countless other beloved family members and friends. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville, MD. Kevin’s burial will take place at a later date at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Fisher House Foundation. Condolences may be made by using the Memories tab on this page.
