Kevin Charles Yates - Obituary

evin Charles Yates, Sr., 41, an 11-year resident of Church Hill and previously of Edgewater, MD, passed away on July 2, 2018. Born on March 20, 1977 in Baltimore, MD to Charles and Lisa “Starr” Yates, Kevin was the owner of Differential Marine LLC in Church Hill. Kevin had a passion for being out on the water, particularly on a boat or jet skis. He was mechanically inclined and found great satisfaction in making repairs at home or for his friends, and in restoring older cars. He was an avid football fan, especially of the Ravens. He also enjoyed ice hockey. A talented grill master, Kevin enjoyed socializing and spending time with friends. His greatest loves though, after his family, were his dogs, Rollo and Chunk. In addition to his parents, Kevin is survived by his wife of 8 years and the love of his life since 1999, Laura Marie Burge-Yates; his son, Kevin Charles Yates, Jr.; and two brothers, Alex Yates of Edgewater and Chuck Yates of Stoney Beach, MD. Friends are invited to celebrate Kevin’s life with his family at a gathering from 5 until 8 p.m. on Monday, July 9 at the Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomon Island Road, Edgewater.
