Kim Marie Awad - Obituary

im Marie Awad, 61, of Mayo passed at her home surrounded by her family on Saturday, April 28, 2018. Kim was born in Washington, D.C. to the late Eugene and Leanna Herring on July 7, 1956. She was a book keeper and property manager for JBG Company in Washington, DC. Kim enjoyed crabbing, gardening, swimming in her pool, going to the beach and spending time with her family. Kim is survived by her husband, Lawrence Awad; her two children, Brandon (Jessica) Awad of Mayo, and Kristen Awad of Edgewater; four granddaughters, Cailey, and Brooke Awad, Annalea and Sunny Ruel; siblings, Joe Herring of Mayo, Scott Herring of Ormond, FL and Kathy Grauel of Myrtle Beach, SC. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lung Cancer Research Foundation, 155 East 55th Street, Suite 6H, New York, NY 10022, info@lcrf.org. Friends are invited to celebrate Kim's life on Sunday, May 6 from 12pm until her memorial service begins at 1pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD. A wake for family and friends will immediately follow service.
