Kurt Thomas Schumacher - Obituary

urt T. Schumacher, 70, a 45-year resident of Edgewater, MD and previously of Landover Hills, MD passed away on May 9, 2026 at his home. Born on April 7, 1956 to the late Thomas Frederick Schumacher and Frances Leone Harrell, Kurt graduated from Fairmont Heights High School before attending Anne Arundel Community College. He established his career as a contracted delivery driver and was employed by Deliveries, Inc. for approximately 30 years. As a boy growing up in Prince George’s County, MD, he was a member of the Landover Hills Boys Club, the Cub Scouts, the Boy Scouts, and Little League. He attended Christ United Methodist Church in Landover Hills, Woodland Beach Community Church in Edgewater, Mayo United Methodist Church in Edgewater, and Cedar Grove United Methodist Church in Deale. He was an avid sports fan at both the national and college levels, and loved watching the Redskins, Senators, and the Orioles. He loved to attend and bet on horse races, especially the Triple Crown, and he traveled to Kentucky, West Virginia, and New York to attend. Kurt is survived by his sister, Gail K.
