antz Hubbard Willard
Lantz H. Willard, and 28 year resident of Edgewater and previously of Beltsville, MD for 25 years, died peacefully at his home on Saturday June 13, 2009 surrounded by his family. Lantz was 91.
Born June 27, 1917 in Bunker Hill, West Virginia, he was a self employed businessman. Lantz was the owner of Willard Sand and Gravel as well as Cherry Hill Construction.
Lantz proudly served his country as a corporal in the United States Marines in the South Pacific during WWII.
He was a member of the Elks Club and Beltsville United Methodist Church. Lantz enjoyed travelling, and working at his businesses.
He is survived by his wife Kate V. Willard, whom he married August 5, 1949, his son Lantz H. Willard, Jr. of Beltsville, MD and his wife Veronica, his step-daughter Betty Moya of Prince Frederick, MD; his sisters Ruth Duke of Virginia Beach, VA, Thelma Crawley of Gaithersburg, MD and Jane Pierce of Winchester, VA. He was predeceased by four brothers and two sisters. Also survived by his grandchildren Jim Moya and Michelle Ullmann.
Friends may call at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Friday June 19th from 2-4pm and on Saturday from 11am until funeral services begin at 12 noon. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens, Davidsonville, MD.
