Laura Gallahan - Obituary

aura Gallahan passed away on August 25, 2020 at her home in Bryans Road, MD. She was 36. Born on May 18, 1984 in Clinton, MD, Laura was the second daughter born to Susan and Mike Gallahan. Laura is preceded in death by her father, William “Mike” Gallahan. She is survived by her mother, Susan Gallahan, her sister Jennifer Gallahan, her daughter and pride and joy Nova Jade Norton, and Nova's father Nevada Norton. In addition, she leaves behind a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and many cousins - a large village to ensure that Nova is always cared for in every way. Laura was raised on Cherry Hill Farm and Orchard across the street from her “Grandma and Grandbo”, down the strawberry patch and across the pond from her uncles, aunts, and cousins, and through the peach orchard and down the hill from her great-grandmother "Haw Maw". As one of 17 first cousins, every Christmas, birthday, and holiday included a house full of food, tons of laughs, and unconditional love. Laura graduated from St. Mary’s Ryken High School, and shortly after entered the financial services industry where she worked for her entire career. In June 2017, Laura and Nevada welcomed Nova Jade Norton into this world. Ever since that day, Nova has been the brightest light in Laura’s life. The way that Nova’s face lit up every time she saw her mom enter a room made everyone’s heart melt. Some of Laura’s favorite pastimes were sharing new experiences with Nova, making fun memories, and spending lots of time with family. As a way to help Nova remember her mom as she grows up, we’ve created an email address: novajadenorton@gmail.com.
