aura Anne Ruitberg, 77, of Davidsonville, MD, died Sunday, December 4, 2022, at her home. Her life ended peacefully with her husband, Edward, at her bedside. Laura was born November 18, 1945 at Providence Hospital in Washington, DC, the daughter of the late John Hilbert and Anne Donovan Hilbert. Laura can be remembered for her loving kindness, her business organization skills, her devout Catholic faith, and her love for kitty cats. She graduated from High Point High School in Beltsville, MD, and got her first job at Citizens Bank of Maryland. Over her long career, Laura worked for several businesses as a bookkeeper and office manager. Laura loved quilting, sewing, and most of all caring for her family. She married Edward Ruitberg on March 2, 1974. In addition to her husband, Laura is survived by her son, Edward Ruitberg, Jr., of Davidsonville; two grandchildren, Sasha and Luka Ruitberg; a brother, John Hilbert, Jr. (Linda); brother-in-law, Arthur Ruitberg (Erin); sister-in-law, Anne Ruitberg Taylor; four nephews, Jay and Joseph Hilbert, Ian Thomas, and Christian Ruitberg; three nieces, Lisa Hilbert, Kim Thomas, and Schuyler Maedjaja; and former daughter-in-law, Rachel Ruitberg Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Laura’s life on Tuesday, December 13 from 5 to 7 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, December 14 at 11 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville, MD.
