Leanna M. Herring, 79, a 10-year resident of Victoria Park and previously of River Club Estates in Edgewater, MD, passed away on July 4, 2016, at her home.  Born on October 20, 1936, in Washington, DC, Leanna was the only child of the late Francis and Frances McCutcheon.  A graduate of Anacostia High School, Leanna devoted her life to husband and children.  She was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Oxon Hill, MD and enjoyed crabbing, gardening, having fun, and a good party.  She was a versatile conversationalist who enjoyed talking to everyone.  Leanna was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Herring, who died in 1990.  She is survived by two sons, Joseph (Anita) Herring of Edgewater and Scott (Keri) Herring of Ormond Beach, FL; two daughters, Kim (Larry) Awad of Edgewater and Katherine (Clifton) Grauel of Myrtle Beach, SC; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.  

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 8 from 11:30a.m. until Leanna’s funeral service begins at 12:00 noon at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater.  Interment will be at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville. 
 
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1850 York Road, Suite D. Timonium, MD 21093.
