eo George Capps, 83, of Hampstead, NC and previously of Shady Side, MD passed away on June 27, 2020. Leo was born in Washington, DC on October 17, 1936 to the late John and Eleanor Capps. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, and worked as a Physical Engineer for WTOP Radio and MCI WorldCom. A lifelong fan of classic western movies, Leo enjoyed the outdoorsmen’s life: fishing, boating, and working with his hands. The self-described “handiest man in Hampstead” was happiest with stiff beverage in one hand and a toolkit in the other. In addition to his parents, Leo was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon in 2019. He is survived by his sisters, Cora Edith Taylor and Lavern Yarnick both of FL; two daughters, Lisa Marie Rodgers of Edgewater and Lea George Capps of Davidsonville; three grandchildren, Jessica Rodgers, Justin Rodgers, and Samantha Blonder.
