Leo Edward Handley - Obituary

f Mechanicsville, MD (formerly of Morningside, MD) passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2013. Beloved son of the late Ellen W. and Robert F. Handley Jr. He was born in Washington, DC on July 31, 1948 and attended Archbishop Carroll. Retired as a Lieutenant from DC Fire Department after 37 years of service. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Brenda D. Handley; his daughters, Lea D. Auman (Jeffrey) and Tracey D. King (Geoffrey) of Mechanicsville, MD; five grandchildren: Jenna, Nick, Brandon, Tara, and Rachel and his beloved brothers Robert F. Handley III (Judie) and William M. Handley (Charlotte). He is also survived by his dear Aunt Dot, and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 30 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, 30195 Three Notch Rd, Charlotte Hall, MD. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 31 at Immaculate Conception Church, 28297 Old Village Rd, Mechanicsville, MD. Interment Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton, MD. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to HEROES, Inc at 1200 29th St., NW, Washington, DC 20007.
