L

eonard Stephen “Len” Homa, 89, a 28-year resident of the Annapolis area, passed away peacefully at his home on October 27, 2015. Born on March 1, 1926 in Pottsville, PA, Len served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He graduated from Dickinson College and went on to pursue his Law Degree at the National Law School/ George Washington University. Len spent his career practicing law in the Washington area. He was a member of St. Mary’s Parish in Annapolis where he volunteered as an Extraordinary Minister. He was also a 40-year member of the Rotary International and served as a Past President of the North Bethesda Club. An avid Redskins fan, Len was a season ticket holder since 1956. Len was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Helen Homa and his sister, Helen Homa. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Homa; two sons, Michael (Mary) Homa of Baltimore and Dan (Cherie) Homa of Edgewater; one daughter, Joan Homa (Steve) Schultz of Bethesda; three grandsons, Tim and Thomas Homa and Christopher Schultz; four granddaughters, Colleen Homa Williams, Megan and Danielle Homa and Jennifer Schultz; and one great-granddaughter, Caroline Williams. Friends are invited to celebrate Len’s life from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 1 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. A Memorial Mass will be offered at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 2 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 N. Bestgate Road, Annapolis. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1850 York Road, Suite D, Timonium, MD 21093.
