eonardo DelRosario Magnaye, 72, a 15 year resident of Edgewater and previously of Davidsonville and the Philippines, died Thursday, February 9 at his home after a seven-year battle with cancer.
Born November 18, 1939 in Limay in the Bataan Province of the Philippines, he attended the Rodriguez Vocational High School in Manila, graduating in 1955. Leonardo worked in Parole for Ricky’s TV & Audio Center and later for RV Recreation World in Annapolis. He was also a Master Ballroom dance instructor and a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Edgewater, MD. Leonardo enjoyed dancing and socializing with friends.
Leonardo is preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Fausta Magnaye, both of Limay of the Bataan Province in the Philippines.
Leonardo is survived by his wife, Susana L. Magnaye, whom he married on March 17, 1967, a son, Leonardo Magnaye, Jr. of Manila, Phillipines, and a daughter, Diana Jungnistsch of Edgewater, MD. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Christopher and Matthew Jungnitsch of Edgewater, MD, Ann Jun, Aldjay, Julie Ann, Leslie Ann, Gay Ann, and Mary Jun Magnaye, all of Cainta, Philippines, and Grace Magnaye Baisaic of Dubai, UAE and one great-grandson Maden Jacob Baisaic of Dubai, UAE
Friends are invited to Leonardo’s Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, on Friday February 17 from 4 to 8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Edgewater on Saturday February 18, at 10am. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens.
