ester “Les” Leroy King, 83, of Davidsonville, died peacefully on May 24, 2011 at the Mandrin Chesapeake Hospice House in Harwood.
He was born on January 19, 1928 in Davidsonville and served in the United States Air Force from 1950-54 in the 808th Motor Vehicle Squad. He was a member the Annapolis Moose Lodge and American Legion Post 226. He enjoyed researching family history, horse racing, gardening and loved making people smile.
He was predeceased by his former wife, Wilma Jean King on January 18, 2009; 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Les is survived by his companion of 42 years, Kathryn Alton; 2 sons, Michael King of Brandywine and Wayne(Lisa) King of Chesapeake Beach; 2 daughters, Brenda King of Davidsonville and Vicki King of Naples, FL; 4 grandchildren, Michael King, Jr., Nicholas King, Jennifer King and Dawn Dye; and 2 great-grandchildren, Joey Demo and Maci Childress.
Friends are invited to Les’ Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater on Thursday from 6 to 8pm and Friday, May 27, 2011 from 11am until time of funeral service begins at 12pm. Entombment Lakemont Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401.
