Liane Gonzalez - Obituary

iane Lopez Gonzalez, 77, a 5 year resident of Bowie, MD and previously of Temple Hills, MD died August 29, 2008 at Baywoods of Annapolis of colon cancer after a 4 year illness. Born August 18, 1931 in Washington, D.C. to the late Irene and John Lopez, she was a 1949 graduate of Eastern High School in Washington, D.C. She was employed as a Nationwide insurance agent for 35 years and owned an insurance agency in Clinton, MD. Her memberships included Chartered Life Underwriters (CLU), she was the founder and past president of the Women Life Underwriters Confederation (WLUC), and past president of Business Professional Women's Association (BPW), ordained minister from the Center of Metaphysics in Temple Hills, MD and was a member of Unitarian Church in Camp Springs, MD. Beloved wife of the late Jose M. Gonzalez, whom she married in 1951 and died in February of 2000; mother of Jose Gonzalez of Bowie, MD, Stephen Gonzalez of Edgewater, MD and the late Michael Gonzalez; sister of John Lopez of Myrtle Beach, SC, Joan Meyers of Arlington, VA and Sylvic Marsden of Ocean Pines, MD; she is also survived by 3 grand daughters. Friends are invited to Liane's Life Celebration on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 1:00pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD. Interment private.
