L

illian Frances Limerick, 81, a 32-year resident of Edgewater and formerly of Lanham/Seabrook, MD, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 27, 2023. Known as Frances “Pookie” to her family and friends, she was born on March 12, 1941 in Washington, DC to the late James E. and Frances L. Hazel. She married Bernard L. Limerick in 1957 and devoted her life to her husband and family, taking joy in raising and supporting the endeavors of her seven children and later her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Frances “Pookie” enjoyed crocheting, sewing, quilting, camping, collecting antiques and shopping at thrift stores. Frances “Pookie” was preceded by her loving husband, Bernard L. Limerick, Sr. who passed away in 2008, two sons, Bernard Limerick, Jr. and David Limerick, one sister, Mary Carter and a granddaughter, Bobbi Jean Frances Limerick Cook Snooks. She is survived by two sons, Greg Limerick of Dallas, OR and Brian Limerick of Lusby, MD; three daughters, Tammy Locklair and Shelley Tyler, both of Edgewater and Angela Washington of Port Deposit, MD; one brother, John Hazel of Hyattsville, MD; three sisters, Betty Carter and Emma Ramsey, both of Lothian, MD and Ann Huston of Riverdale, MD. She is also survived by ten grandsons, Scottie Lindsey, Andrew, Jacob, Joseph, Travis, Jesse, and Christian Limerick, Scott Davis, J.C. Locklair and Brian Troy; four granddaughters, Kortney Greene, Grace and Alyssa Webster and Ashley Limerick and many many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Burial will be private. The family will schedule a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project or a veterans charity of your choice.
