Lillian M. Walker - Obituary

n Friday, December 28, 2018, a former resident of Oxon Hill, MD, Lillian M. Walker, age 97, peacefully passed away at her home in Waldorf, MD. Lillian was born on February 1, 1921 in Seat Pleasant, MD to Lillie Godfrey and Harry Maloney. In 1939, she graduated from Maryland Park High School in Seat Pleasant. She served as an Administration Officer in the Collection Division Department of the I.R.S in Washington, D.C. for several years. One of her greatest achievements was holding the title of First Female Junior Warden of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church located in Temple Hills, MD. Lillian loved traveling in her motor home with her husband, Ed and spending time with her grandchildren. Special people in her life are Terry, Patsy, Ina, and Tina. Lillian is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Walker Doerk of Potomac, MD; her son, Charles E. Walker, Jr. of Indian Head, MD; her grandsons, Steven Dirk, Jason Doerk, and Kevin Doerk Michael, Eddie, Matthew and Cameron Walker; her granddaughters, Kimberly Walker Sturman Mack and Cheyenne Walker; and nine great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Lillie Maloney and her husband of 58 years, Charles Edward Walker, Sr. Services will be held at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 5203 St Barnabas Rd, Temple Hills, MD 20748 on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Interment St. Barnabas Episcopal Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Barnabas Episcopal Church.
