Lillie Shipman Gerald - Obituary

n Thursday, September 10, 2020 Lillie Gerald died peacefully at the age of 98. She was preceded in death by her father, Giles Shipman, her mother, Olive Shipman and her 10 siblings. She is survived by her 4 nieces, Cleopatra Blakely, Agnes Pilgrim, Dr. Krishmu Shipmon, Janis Coaxum, a great niece, Christine Pilgrim and a nephew, Ronald Johnson. She graduated from Clarkton High School in North Carolina and attended Fayetteville State University in North Carolina as well as Howard University in Washington, DC. She was a teacher for several years. Lillie enjoyed reading, writing poetry and listening to classical music. She was a Sodalist in her church for many years. A rosary will be said at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass on Wednesday, September 16th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Camp Springs, MD. Interment will be at Fort Lincoln Cemetery in Brentwood, MD.
