Linda Capstick - Obituary

inda Capstick, 59, of Annapolis and previously of Gaithersburg, died Aug. 20 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. She had complications of congestive heart failure and a brain tumor. A homemaker, Mrs. Capstick was born Dec. 23, 1947, in Chicago, Ill., and was reared in Terre Haute, Ind. She graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in personnel administration. A cancer survivor, she had reticulum cell lymph sarcoma which she overcame 35 years ago. She sponsored Naval Academy midshipmen and enjoyed gardening, Tole painting, playing bridge and needlepoint. Surviving are her husband, Arnold B. Capstick, whom she married Nov. 6, 1990; three sons, Eric Rei of Wilmington, N.C., Mark Capstick of Jefferson in Frederick County, and Brad Capstick of Indianapolis, Ind.; two daughters, Lisa Cairns of Jefferson and Colleen Capstick of Cockeysville; two brothers, Rick Harrington of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Jack Harrington of Aiken, S.C.; two sisters, Michele Harrington of Fayetteville, Ark., and Mary Harrington of Hilton Head, S.C.; her mother, Mary Chalmers of Hendersonville, N.C.; and seven grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 24, 2007 at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. Burial will be private.
