Linda Saunders DeJesus October 19, 1954 – August 23, 2021

Linda Saunders DeJesus, of Suitland, Maryland, formerly of Brandywine, MD, passed away Monday, August 23, 2021 at Northern Virginia Hospital of Virginia. She was born October 19, 1954 in Washington, District of Columbia to William O. and Hazel Allen Saunders. On June 7, 1985 she married Carlos S. DeJesus; they were happily married for 36 years. Along with taking care of things on the home front, helping Carlos raise two boys, keeping up with Granny’s health and well-being; Linda’s passion was racing cars. Taking a break meant racing cars at Maryland International Raceway, Colonial and Capitol Raceways. She loved watching Carlos race the Duster. With all their other pursuits keeping the GTO, Barracuda, Dart and the Duster in good condition was quite a task.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved mother-in-law Luisa Iglesias.

Linda is survived by her husband, Carlos; sons, Carlos S. DeJesus II; Travis E. DeJesus (Nikki); sister, Pamela S. Jones of Maryland; brother, William Shayne Saunders of Texas; and two grandchildren, Tyler DeJesus, Kora DeJesus; she leaves behind nieces, nephews, friends and a large extended family as well.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD from 10 a.m. until the start of the memorial service at 11 a.m. Interment will be private at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Heart Association or charity of choice.
