inda R. Fleetwood, a resident of Martinsburg, West Virginia, died June 15, 2011 at her home after a valiant battle with cancer. Linda was born May 28, 1946 in Washington, DC and was a graduate of La Reine High School. Linda was the beloved wife of the late James V. Fleetwood, Jr.
Linda was a “sports mom”, always supporting and attending her sons’ and grandkids’ sporting events. Linda was an avid reader and a volunteer for the American Cancer Society in Martinsburg. She fought a long and hard battle to beat the odds against cancer and was a true inspiration to family and friends.
She is survived by her two sons, Jason M. (Phyllis) and Scott V. Fleetwood, and her five grandchildren, Raven, Logan, Sydney, Samantha, and Jessica.
Family and friends are invited to Linda’s Life Celebration on Wednesday, June 22 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, June 23, at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church’s St. Joseph Center, 11700 Duley Station Rd., Upper Marlboro, MD 20772. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.
