Linda Jean Fletcher - Obituary

inda Jean Fletcher, 60, a 23-year resident of Chesapeake Beach, MD, and previously of Bowie, MD, died on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Born September 29, 1962, in Cheverly, MD to James W. Abbott Sr. and Joann C. Abbott, Linda obtained an Associate of Arts degree in Preschool Education. She worked as a preschool Teacher, Home School Teacher, Florist, and Office Manager for her Parent’s Business. Linda was a longtime member of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Owings, MD. She enjoyed taking care of her twins, grandniece, and nephews, going to Disney World, scrapbooking, and traveling. In addition to her parents, Linda is survived by her husband of 36 years, Ray Fletcher; two children, Tim Fletcher of Frederick, MD and Lindsay Fletcher of Chesapeake Beach, MD; two siblings, James W. Abbott, Jr. and his wife, Janice Abbott of Crofton, MD and John M. Abbott and his wife, Tina Abbott of Glen Burnie, MD. Interment will be held at a later date at Lakemont Memorial Gardens, Davidsonville, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be in Linda's name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
