inda G. Gheen, 75, a 10-year resident of Edgewater and previously of College Park, died Friday, December 19 at the Mandrin Inpatient Care Center in Harwood. She was born on December 7, 1939 in Thomasville, NC, and then graduated from Anna Burdick Vocational High School in Washington, DC. She went on to work for Safeway where she retired from in 2005. She was a member of the Elks Lodge #622 in Annapolis, enjoyed sewing, shopping, going to garage sales and watching NASCAR.
Linda is survived by her husband of 59 years, Alvin Gheen; four children, Ricky (Sherri) Gheen, Dennis (Terry) Gheen, Linda (Tony) Schweiss and Jennifer (Mike) Greene; five sisters, Carol Pironto, Joyce Kutz, Rosemary Robles, Doreen Johnson and Doris Siegler; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, December 26 from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 27 at 1:30pm.
