Linda Basil Smith - Obituary

inda Basil Smith, 76, a resident of Crofton, MD for four years and previously of Harwood, died on Monday, April 3, at Spring Arbor of Crofton. Born on January 28, 1947 in Annapolis to the late John Deale and Helen Jefferson Basil, Linda was a 1964 graduate of Annapolis High School. She owned and operated a horse boarding stable where she taught horseback riding. Linda was a member of St. Anne’s Church in Annapolis and enjoyed horses, dogs, having lunch with friends and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Jerome Wesley Smith and her sister, Diane Basil Steele. She is survived by her daughter, Kirsten Smith (John) Hair of Harwood, MD and her grandsons, Wesley Douglas, John David and Benjamin Isaac Hair. Friends are invited to celebrate Linda's life at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Sunday, April 16 from 4 to 6 pm. Memorial service will be held at St. Anne's Church, Church Circle, Annapolis, MD on Monday, April 17 at 1 pm. Interment will follow at Cedar Bluff Cemetery.
