n Saturday, August 28, 2010, Tom passed away at the Martinsburg VA Hospital where he lived for the past two years. He was born, January 2nd of 1949 in Washington D.C. He attended Prince George's schools. After graduation, he served in the United States Army with a tour in Vietnam. After his time serving in the military, he was a house painter by trade and was a member of the Kentland Volunteer Fire Department in Kentland, Maryland. While living in California for a time, he worked for Dynalectron. When he returned to Maryland, he worked for St. Mary's County Government until 1997.
Tom is survived by his son, Jason Snellings, Sr. of Yuma Arizona; brothers Scott Snellings, Jr. of Ft. Washington, Maryland and Richard Snellings of Manassas, Virginia. He is also survived by one grandson Jason Snellings, Jr. and five nephews and One niece.
Family and friends are invited to Tom's Life Celebration on Wednesday, September 8th from 10:30 until time of services at 11:30 am at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, Maryland. Interment will follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, Maryland, with Military Honors
