ois Louise Weekley Hall, 99, a resident of Annapolis and previously of Greensboro, MD, passed away on August 19, 2025. Born on October 12, 1925, in Bayou La Batre, AL to the late James F. and Adell P. Weekley, Lois’ family relocated in 1932 to Miami Springs, FL where Lois graduated from Miami Edison High School in 1944. She married her husband, Linwood Stokes Hall, that same year and became an Army Air Corp wife. They were stationed at the US Air Force Base in West Palm Beach, FL for 10 years before moving to Annapolis where they raised their family. A talented seamstress of clothes, draperies and slipcovers, Lois went to work at Arnold Hurts Fabrics, then tried her hand at owning her own business, Kent Island Fabric Shop, before enjoying a 26-year career at the Mill End Shop in Annapolis. Prior to entering the fabric industry, she worked at Nationwide Insurance and, during World War II, at the Miami Air Depot in Florida. Lois was a giving person who loved her Bible and Jesus. She fostered two boys for six years after their mother was killed in an automobile accident and she started a program of collecting and delivering clothing, toys, school supplies and household items to families in the West Virginia mountains. Lois was a member of the Van Buren Street Baptist Church in Annapolis; a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, L.L. Merrill, Sr. Unit 3 where she was past commander; and a life member of VFW Auxiliary, Post 304, where she was senior and junior vice president. In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her loving husband, Linwood, who died in 2010; her son, Thomas Leonard Hall, who died in 1954; great-grandson, Thomas J. Hall; great-granddaughter, Kristia Ellis and her five siblings, W. Daniel, Olive and Joseph Weekley, Claudia Broshar and Doris Copeland. She is survived by her children, Russell Linwood Hall, Sr. of Millsboro, DE, Emily Adell Hall of Edgewater, MD and James Lee Hall of Greensboro, MD; her sister-in-law, Maxine Hall of Stevensville, MD; and her grandchildren, Hope Leslie Bandura (Charles), Emily Virginia Tomdary (Mandy), Russell Linwood Hall, Jr., Joyce Lynn Mullen (Josh), and Jessica Lea Hall. Lois is also survived by six great grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren as well as her two foster sons, Timothy and Herbert Wheatley. The funeral service for Lois will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, September 2, at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD. Burial will be private.
