ois A. Phillips, an 8–year resident of Annapolis and previously of New Carrollton, MD, died peacefully on Saturday, January 14 at Anne Arundel Medical Center, surrounded by her family.
She was born May 16, 1932 to the late Voit and Kathryn Dickinson and was a 1950 graduate of St. Mary of the Mount High School in Pittsburgh, PA. Lois worked as an Executive Administrative Assistant with the Prince George’s County Public School System. She was also a member of the Red Hats and a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church in Davidsonville, MD.
Lois enjoyed crossword puzzles, travelling, riding roller coasters, painting and spending time at Wrightsville Beach in North Carolina. She also enjoyed cross stitching, making items that were very useful to the people she gave them to.
Lois was predeceased by her former husband, Robert Phillips; one brother Bud Dickinson and two sisters; Marge Schuster and Jean Coghill.
She is survived by her children; Robert Phillips of Edgewater, MD, Karen Fawkes of Garland, TX, Paul Phillips of Crownsville, MD, Susan Pazulski of Severn, MD, Kate Nagy of Davidsonville, MD and Jeffrey Phillips of St. Johns, Florida, one sister; Dorothy Jennings of Erie, PA. Also survived by her grandchildren; Terry, Krystle, Brian, Amy, Elizabeth, Kate, Samantha, Stephanie, Jaclyn and Aniela, two great-grandchildren and her niece Little Sue and nephew Jim.
Friends are invited to Lois’s Life Celebration on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, January 20, at 11am at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church, 1070 Cecil Avenue South, Millersville, Maryland 21108, with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
