L

ouis Anderson Phipps, Jr. “Louie” passed away on Monday, May 10 2021 at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. A life-long resident of Anne Arundel County, Louie was an avid waterman who enjoyed his time on the Bay crabbing and fishing. Louie spent his life giving of his time and talent to everyone he met. Louie’s career spanned over 20 years with Reliable Contracting as a heavy equipment operator, and in his free time, he devoted his attention to his large network of friends and family. He and his wife enjoyed riding their motorcycles, participating in shooting sports at Three Rivers Sportsman, and bowling with the Chesapeake Christian Fellowship bowling league. Louie is preceded in death by his father, Louis A. Phipps; and a brother, Gary Lee Phipps. He is survived by his mother Edith Phipps; his wife, Sharon Phipps; a sister, Thea Lee Phipps; two sons, Jeffrey Hagan (Krystle Hagan) and James Kirby (Megan Kirby); two daughters, Jennifer Leavers (Joe Leavers) and Anna Phipps; eight grandchildren, Brandon Leavers, Bryan Butler, Hunter Leavers, Hayden Leavers, Rylee Hagan, Alivia Goshen, Shelbie Hagan, Camden Kirby; two great-grandchildren Braelin and Blake; a nephew, Louis Phipps; a niece Sara Phipps; and multiple cousins, aunts, and uncles. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 19, at 2 PM at Chesapeake Christian Fellowship, 377 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville, MD.
