ouise Mouton Borden was born March 21, 1935 to the late Lloyd and Lucy (Rich) Mouton in Washington, DC; she was the third of four children and was preceded in death by her older sister Pauline Mouton McGee. At an early age she enjoyed playing the piano, roller and ice skating and toe dancing, her love of dancing would follow her throughout her life. Louise attended DC Public Schools and graduated from Cardoza High School. Louise worked in the Federal Government until she met and married John R. Borden and lived abroad as an Army wife. To this union were born two sons and one daughter, she later returned to the states and went back to work for the Federal Government. She retired from the Department of Defense. “Peas” as her family and friends affectionately knew her, was a superb seamstress and hairstylist. Her love of dancing never stopped and later in life she took up belly dancing and performing at various venues and family events. Peas enjoyed life on her terms, her smile and laughter radiated wherever she went. During retirement she went back to sewing and later volunteering at the Oxon Hill Public Library. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and enjoyed having the many generations of her family around her. On Tuesday morning November 11, 2014, Peas peacefully left this earth and will be forever remembered. She is survived by; her sons Gaylloyd Borden, Glenn R. Borden and her daughter, Adrienne “Lynn” Borden; two brothers, Ellsworth C. and Lloyd “Sam” (Willie Ruth); four granddaughters, Lindsay Borden Hancock (Tom), Adrienne “Jetaun” Lucas, Christine Borden Kerns (Clayton) and Heather E. Borden; four great-grandchildren, Darrion, Damauni, Eltonino and Sophia; and host of relatives and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to Louise's Life Celebration on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 11am at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD.
