ouise Sivills Persinger, 87, a three year resident of Annapolis and formerly of Louisiana, died August 12 at Genesis Spa Creek Center.
Mrs. Persinger was born July 3, 1921 in Camden County, NC to the late Thomas Bushel and Margaret Elizabeth Dryden Sivills.
She enjoyed cooking and gardening. She worked for the Quartermaster in Virginia during WWII and then as bookkeeper for several firms throughout her life. She came to Annapolis as an evacuee of hurricane Katrina.
She was preceded in death by her husband Howard H. Persinger, Sr. on August 12, 1972; and three sisters, Elizabeth S. Sanderlin of Kitty Hawk, NC, Helen S. Foil of Hillsville, VA, Florence S. Duncan of Pittsburgh, PA and two brothers, Marcus Sivills of Harbinger, NC and Dryden Sivills of Dare, NC.
Survivors include one son, Howard H. “Butch†Persinger, Jr. of Braselton, GA and two daughters, Bonnie Persinger of Annapolis and Nancy Welsh of Bush, LA; one sister, Mary Bowman of Boones Mill, VA; one brother, David L. Sivills of Mattawa, WA; three grand children and three great-grandchildren.
No local services are planned as the family will gather in Baton Rouge at a later date to inter her next to her husband.
