etired Lt. Col. William (Bill) G. Troumbley, Jr., 56, a 14-year resident of Edgewater, MD and previously of Lee's Summit, MO, died of heart failure on July 16, 2008 at Arlington Hospital Center. He was born on February 4, 1952 to Virginia and the late William Troumbley, Sr., in Independence, MO where he graduated high school. He joined the Missouri Army National Guard in 1972 as a Private. He entered in the 110th Engineering Battalion, progressing to the rank of Sergeant before attending Officer's Candidate School. He was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in 1974 and continued serving in the 110th Engineering Battalion. As a Major in the Guard, he served in the Facilities/Contract Construction Management Office from 1983 through 1987. During the mid-1990s, he worked in the area of Operations and Maintenance, responsible for the development of automated programs capable of tracking funding transactions for the 54 States and Territories. Several of his programs are still used today in the resource management area. As a result of his special skills, Lt. Col. Troumbley was assigned responsibility in 1995 for administration of the Guard's Installations Status Report and Service Base Costing Programs. He became affiliated with the Maryland Army National Guard as a traditional M-day soldier rising to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. His most recent assignment within the Division was Manager of the National Guard's Management Assessment Profile Program and the International Standards Organization Management Profiles. He was also a member of the Chesapeake Christian Fellowship Church in Edgewater, MD. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Adora “Jing†Troumbley of Edgewater, two sons, Robert Troumbley of Greenwood, MO and Michael Troumbley of Green Bay, WI, and a sister, Jennabeth Settle of Lee's Summit, MO. Family and friends are invited to Lt. Col. Troumbley's life celebration on Sunday, July 20, 6-8pm, at the Chesapeake Christian Fellowship Church, 377 W. Central Avenue, Davidsonville, MD where a funeral service will be held at the church on Monday, July 21, at 7pm. Burial private.
