E

ugene “Wugo” Theodore Wugofski, 72, a resident of Annapolis, MD for over 9 and a half years and previously of Silver Spring, MD for 29 years died at his home in Annapolis, MD of chronic heart problems and diabetes after a 7 year illness. Born September 23, 1935 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Theodore E. & Jean Wugofski, he received his BA in 1957 from University of Pennsylvania and did graduate work at University of Maryland and University of Oklahoma. Was president of both Pacific Sierra Research Corp., Inc. and ERIM (Environmental Research, Inc.-Michigan at Ann Arbor, retiring in 2001. He was a Lt. Col. in the United States Army and was stationed in Bad Tölz, Germany, Okinawa, Japan and in Korea, Ft. Meade, Ft. Bragg and Arlington Hall. He served in both the Vietnam War. He was awarded the bronze star, Joint Service Commendation medal with Oak Leaf Cluster and the Meritorious Service medal. He retired from the military in January of 1982. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Annapolis, MD and the Severna Park Bridge Club. His hobbies included bridge, boating and the Washington Redskins. He played in a rock and roll band while in college, where he sang and played the sax. Beloved husband of Caroline E. Wugofski, who he married on January 19, 1963; father of Theodore D. Wugofski of Ft. Worth, TX and Timothy E. Wugofski of Gaithersburg, MD; brother of Carolyn Peffley of Philadelphia, PA; survived by 4 grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at 12:45 P.M. at Ft. Myer Chapel at Arlington National Cemetery.
