ary Regina "Jean" McGinnis, 75, a resident of New Carrollton for 46 years and previously of Washington, D.C. for 29 years, died of natural causes Dec. 15 in her home.
Mrs. McGinnis was born Oct. 5, 1932, in Washington, D.C., and graduated from Holy Trinity High School.
She worked as a preschool teacher at the former New Carrollton Early Learning Center from 1985 to 1991, and then at Lanham United Methodist Church until 1995.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Jack McGinnis.
Survivors include two sons, Michael McGinnis of New Carrollton and John McGinnis of Laurel; two daughters, Joan Welch of Davidsonville and Mary Jean Geiger of Charlotte, Mich.; two brothers, William O'Brien of Point of Rocks and Michael O'Brien of McLean, Va.; one sister, Elizabeth Bolton of New Bedford, Mass.; and three grandchildren Grace & Rachel Welch and Camille Rattle.
A memorial mass will be offered at 11 a.m. Dec. 29 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W. Central Ave. in Davidsonville.
Interment will be private.
