M

adine Mavis Pankey de Capiteau “Mimi”, 101, a 26-year resident of Annapolis and previously of North Canton, OH, died on October 17, 2010 from pneumonia at the Ginger Cove Health Center. She was born September 30, 1909 in Brookfield Lin County, MO to the late Riley and Hallie Pankey, and earned an undergraduate degree in speech therapy and drama from Christian College (now Columbia College) in Columbia, MO. In 1936, Mimi married Theodore Francis de Capiteau, who died in 1988, and devoted herself to making a comfortable home for her husband and children. She volunteered at the Canton YWCA in Canton, OH where she was the Chief Executive Officer from 1960 to 1971, and was a life member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. In addition to her husband, Mimi is predeceased by her daughter, Alice Ann Hall, and a brother, Kenneth Pankey. She is survived by one son, Theodore deCapiteau of Silver City, NM and two grandsons, Peter Hall of Naples, FL and Riley Hall of New Orleans, LA. Funeral services for Mimi will be held in Brookfield, MO. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to P.E.O.
