MaeBelle Wilson - Obituary

rs. Wilson, known as “Mibs” to family and friends died of heart failure on October 11, 2008 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. She was born on April 13, 1925 in St. Paul, MN. She was the eldest of seven children of the late Mary Elizabeth Martin Stumm and William Irwin Stumm. She was a 1943 graduate of North High in Minneapolis, MN. She was also a graduate of the former Abbott Hospitals School of Nursing. Joining the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps in 1948, she was a Korean veteran stationed at Naval Hospitals in Texas, Virginia, Japan and the U.S. Naval Academy. She earned her A.A., B.A. and M.A. at Maryland Colleges. She married Joseph B. Wilson on February 13, 1954. She was an active member of numerous church, community and civic organizations. She belonged to several professional organizations. A member of Colombia Rebekah Lodge No. 50, IOOF of Forestville, MD, Life Member of the United Methodist Women's and the Auxiliary of Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD. She was the sister of the late Robert (Bob) William Stumm and Blanche B. Thuftidal. Surviving are her husband, Joseph B. Wilson of Annapolis, MD; her son, Joseph B. Wilson, Jr. of Annapolis, MD; her siblings, Mary Jane Blesi, Barbara J. Bernhard, Margie L. Straumann and Larry I. Stumm, all of the Minneapolis, MN area. Mrs. Wilson donated her body to the Maryland Board of Anatomy and Research in Baltimore,MD. Mrs. Wilson's Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD.
