Shelton's Life Celebration on Friday, November 7, 2025 from 10 a.m. until the start of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Mount Carmel Baptist Church, 901 3rd St., NW, Washington, DC 20001. Maj. Shelton's Interment at Arlington National Cemetery with Military Honors will take place on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 3 p.m. From Arlington National Cemetery's Website: Everyone should arrive at the Administration Building 30-45 minutes prior to the service. The security guards on Memorial Avenue (our main entrance) will direct you to the Administration Building. All vehicles should park in your family designated queueing lane, marked with an electronic sign with your loved ones name, in front of the Administration Building. All attendees must have their own transportation or ride with another attendee as you will be driving from the Administration Building to the service location. We do not provide transportation and the cemetery has over 600 acres. The front desk receptionist will direct you to the family room assigned to your family. Only 10 people are allowed in the family room at any given time, but there is no limit to the number of attendees at the service in the cemetery itself. There are restrooms and a water fountain in the Administration Building which everyone is welcome to use. The cemetery representative and chaplain assigned to the service will meet you in the family room. All attendees 16 years of age and older must have a valid photo ID.
