Malcolm McCallum - Obituary

alcolm “Mac” DuAne McCallum, Sr., 62, a 20-year resident of Shady Side, MD and previously of Hyattsville, MD died on April 5, 2010 at Johns Hopkins Hospital of COPD after an 8 year illness. Born January 14, 1948 in Cheverly, MD, to the late Malcolm J. & Dellorm McCallum, he attended Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, MD. Malcolm served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was self employed as a painting contractor. His memberships included the American Legion, the BOP of the Elks and the Moose. Mr. McCallum was an avid boater and fisherman and loved playing poker with his buddies. He was the beloved husband of Patricia “Patty” McCallum, whom he married in October 1986; father of Malcolm McCallum, Jr. of Pennsylvania, Ryan McCallum of Shady Side, MD, Shannon Fredlund of Waysons Corner, MD and Angela Pope of Calvert county, MD; also survived by 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Friends are invited to Mac's Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Saturday, April 10 from 10am until time of service begins at 12pm.
