Manfred Leinemann - Obituary

anfred “Fred” Leinemann, 76, a 19-year resident of Annapolis, died suddenly on August 30, 2014. Born on May 23, 1938 in Klein Ilsede, Germany, Fred immigrated to the United States in 1966. In 1969, Fred went into business for himself and opened the Lanham Construction Company, Inc. which is still operating 45 years later. He was a member of the German Arminius Lodge #25 in Washington, DC; Rotary Club of Bladensburg; Washington Saengerbund; and Concord Club. Fred enjoyed traveling, plants and gardening. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Fred was preceded in death by one brother, Wilhelm Leinemann. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Elisabeth; three sons, Andrew and Oliver (AnnMarie) Leinemann of Edgewater, and Mark (Sharon) Leinemann of Woodbine; three sisters and nine grandchildren. Friends are invited to Fred’s Life Celebration from 4 p.m. until his memorial service begins at 7 p.m. on Friday, September 5 at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater.
