Manuela Leon Thompson - Obituary

ormer school secretary and receptionist for St. Francis Xavier School in Southeast Washington died on December 12, 2008 at the young age of 92, from complications of pneumonia at George Washington University Hospital, Washington,D.C. She lived independently in Upper Marlboro, Maryland until August of 2008. She was a volunteer member of the Mother's Club at Gonzaga College High School and helped establish a Day of Recollection for the WINGS( a group of alumni mothers of Gonzaga graduates). Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Nathaniel and her son Jose Miguel Thompson. She is survived by a daughter Cecilia Margarita and two sons, Bernard Nathaniel 2nd and Juan Manuel Thompson; 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00a.m. on Friday, December 19 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2800 Pennsylvania Ave. S.E. Rosary at 10:30a.m.
