Marcella Glennon - Obituary

arcella Barbara Glennon died May 15th 2012 in Dallas, Texas at the age of one hundred. She was born on January 5th 1912 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Marcella was the oldest of four daughters born to Mary and Thomas Schmitt. She is predeceased by two of her sisters Marian and Margaret. She is survived by her sister Mildred. Marcella was married to James Glennon in Washington D. C. in 1937. Her husband died in 1999 at the age of 91. Marcella is survived by three children Barbara, James and John. She has seven grand children and six great grand children. The Glennons lived in the Washington D. C. area and raised their children there from 1937 to 1989. At that time they moved to a retirement community in Dallas. In Washington, Marcella stayed home to raise her children until the youngest was in grade school. She then pursued a career at the Library of Congress. She retired in 1975. Her primary interests were her family and her church. She was a long time parishioner at Saint Francis Xavier church. A committal service will be held at Resurrection Cemetery, 8000 Woodyard, Clinton, MD on Monday, May 21 at 10:30am.
