Marcia D. Moreland - Obituary

arcia Dianna Moreland, age 64, a longtime resident of Annapolis, MD, passed away peacefully, after a short illness, on Saturday, October 20, 2018. Born on November 12, 1953, in New Jersey to the late Maurice and Catherine Alton, Marcia graduated from Annapolis High School. She worked mainly as a homemaker, taking care of her beloved husband and children, along with moonlighting as a bartender and beautician. Marcia truly loved her children and grandbabies. She enjoyed watching the Washington Redskins, NASCAR, Line Dancing, and Bowling. Marcia had an uncanny way of sparking up a conversation with anyone and would always give you her contagious giggle. She was a member of the American Legion #226 in Mayo, MD as well as The Annapolis Moose Lodge #296, in Annapolis, MD. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her step-father, Albert Ritchie. Marcia is survived by her husband, Charles T. Moreland ; a daughter, Tina Marie Moreland ; two sons Thomas "T.R." (Michelle) Ray Moreland and their children, Brooke Pettit and Abbey Moreland and Brian Patrick Moreland and his children Travis and Derek Moreland ; two siblings, Kevin (Lisa) Alton and Sheila (Ronnie) Boswell (Ronnie) ;her dear friend, Kenneth Thomas ; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Family, Friends, and others whom Marcia’s life touched are invited to celebrate her life at the Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Sunday, November 4 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, where a funeral service will be held on Monday, November 5 at 10:30 am. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens, Davidsonville, MD.
