Marcia Walker - Obituary

arcia Mae Walker, a 60 year resident of Edgewater and previously of Washington, D.C. died on Sunday May 17, 2009 at her residence after a brief illness. She was 78.Born December 18, 1930 in Washington, D.C to the late Anton and Madelle Sniegoski, Marcia's passion was being a mother, grandmother and a friend, having had dinner with her neighbor almost every night for over 20 years. Marcia was a member of St. Andrew the Fisherman Episcopal Church, where she served on the alter guild. Her hobbies included reading and cooking. Marcia was predeceased by her husband James M. Walker, Sr., whom she married in August of 1952, and who died in September of 1991. She is survived by her sons, James Walker of Owings, MD and Mark Walker of Springdale, Arkansas, her grandchildren Rachel, Rebekah and Hannah Walker, all of Owings, MD and was predeceased by her 2 sisters and one brother.Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 20, at 10:00AM at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home 2973 Solomons Island Rd. Edgewater, MD . A graveside service will follow at 1:45pm at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville, MD.Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew the Fisherman Episcopal Church or to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401.
