argaret Nancy Willis-Asquith “Peggyâ€, 89, a 12-year resident of Deale, MD and previously of Churchton, MD, died of natural causes on February 26, 2010 at the Mandrin Chesapeake Hospice House in Harwood, MD. Born November 4, 1920 in Westmoreland, PA to the late Charles and Mary Willis, she worked at various restaurants in the Annapolis area and was a care giver. Active in the Cedar Grove United Methodist Church, Peggy was a member of the Martha Lydia Circle, Wednesday Morning Bible Study and Wednesday Night Dinner Preparation. She used her crocheting talent to make thousands of slippers for distribution to the poor in the United States and numerous third-world countries. In addition to reading her bible and crocheting, She loved her dogs and especially spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren as well as the children at her church.
Peggy is survived by one son, Joseph V. Cardyn, Jr. of Shiloh, NC; two daughters, Peggy N. Singleton of Davidsonville, MD and Mary E. Cardyn of Deale, MD; one brother, Robert Willis of Clarksburg, PA and two sisters; Charlotte Galish of Burgettstown, PA and Gloria Mewherder of Lakewood, NJ. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to Peggy's Life Celebration on Monday, March 1, from 1 until 3 and 6 until 8 p.m. at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church, 5965 Deale-Churchton Road, Deale, MD 20751 where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 2, at 10 a.m. Interment Rogers Cemetery in Deale, MD.
