argaret H. “Holly” Bevan, of Crownsville, MD, and previously of Kula and Maui Hawaii, passed away on Saturday, December 9th in Harwood, Maryland. Holly was 101.
Holly was born on March 20, 1916 in White Pine, Tennessee. She attended the University of Michigan where she earned a B.A. in Journalism and a M.A in Education. Holly was a Chief Petty Officer in the Navy and served in WWII. She was a member of the Anne Arundel Radio Club, Arundel Stamp Club and the Arundel Camera Club. Her interests included amateur radio, photography and stamp collecting.
She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Wilbur Roy Bevan. Holly is survived by her son, Michael T. Bevan of Crownsville, MD and her sister, Fern V. Holloway of White Pine, Tennessee.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
