Margaret Masters - Obituary

eatrice Margaret Masters passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 16, 2014 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Arthur Masters, who passed away in 1987;a granddaughter, Melissa; a great-grandson, Brendan; and one brother, William Jones. She is survived by her three children, Sandra Ann Tardy and her husband, Buzz of Snow Hill, MD, Brenda Heafner of Citrus Spring, FL and James Masters of Edgewater, MD; four grandchildren, Lisa, Carolyn, Sandee and Jay; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Carole Fager and her husband, Myrl of Emporium, KS. Margaret, as she preferred to be called, was born in Mobile, AL to the late Willie Jones and Mary Ward Jones on March 18, 1928. She retired from the University of Maryland in 1998. Margaret loved bowling, bingo, traveling and especially special family events and gathering. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, October 29 at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Cheltenham, 11301 Crain Hwy., Cheltenham, MD.
