argaret Mary "Nanny" Musgrove, 96, a 57-year resident of Edgewater, died of natural causes March 19 in her home.
Mrs. Musgrove was born Aug. 15, 1911, in Washington, D.C., to the late William and Anna Hilgenberg, and attended Holy Comforter School.
She retired from the federal government in 1971.
She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Edgewater since 1950, the Londontown Peppers for 41 years and the Rosary Group at Our Lady of Perpetual Help.
The eldest of 12 children, she was the backbone of her family. She traveled the world including Hawaii, Germany, Ireland, Aruba and Nassau. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, dancing, traveling, swimming and attending yard sales.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Musgrove; six brothers, William, Adolph, Leonard, Albert, George and Joseph Hilgenberg; and two sisters, Catherine Hilgenberg and Anna Anderson.
Survivors include one son, Oliver W. Musgrove of Edgewater; two brothers, John Hilgenberg of Suitland and Edward Hilgenberg of Odenton; one sister, Louise Divver of Silver Spring; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may join in the celebration of her life from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 22 at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road in Edgewater, and at 11 am. Monday, March 24 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 515 Loch Haven Road in Edgewater.
A Mass of Christian burial will follow at noon. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Annapolis.
