Margaret Nicowski - Obituary

argaret “Marney” Nicowski, 95, a 15-year resident of Edgewater, MD and previously of Upper Marlboro, MD, passed at her home on May 4, 2020. Born January 26, 1925, in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Anne and George Miklusak, she was as an entrepreneur and owner at Margie’s Dress Shop in Prince George’s County. Later, she and her late husband, Hank Nicowski, both became successful real estate developers and office building owners, most notably Beltway Plaza 36 in Prince George’s County. She was also a successful financial investor. Marney was a longtime parishioner at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Edgewater, MD. She enjoyed finance, entertaining, playing cards, and spending time with her great-grandson, Tristan. In addition to her husband of 26 years, Hank Nicowski, she was preceded in death by nine siblings. She is survived by two children, Dave Nicowski and Susan Mitchell, both of Edgewater, MD; a sister, Delores Hickel; a granddaughter, Ashley Mitchell; and beloved great-grandson, Tristan Krauss. Because of current restrictions, all services and interment are private.
